WP7 coming to the HD2?

I have to admit my dreams were not totally smashed when Microsoft declared the HD2 un-upgradeable to WP7. Although I did take a hard swallow when I heard the news I have witnessed what the online community can do with a challenge. XDA developers have now successfully booted the HD2 with Windows Phone 7 and I am sure the near future will bring us more videos and a quick guide to “do it yourself.”

Currently, I can dual boot my HD2 to run Android 2.1 w/Sense and I really love showing people this, but it still has some quirks as I quickly remembered when I called my wife tonight and only heard a scratchy tone I assumed was her answering the phone. I am looking for a full replacement of my Windows Phone experience. I want this help lower my craving for a new phone.

The HD2 is a remarkable phone and really set the trend for the year in my opinion. Go big or go home! Several 4″ or larger smartphones hit the market in 2010, three of those belonged to HTC and most were very similar in specs to the HD2. I am looking forward to what 2011 is going to bring us and hopefully early next year will grant me WP7 on my HD2!

That would definitely be a killer feature…and you are absolutely correct. The HD2 set the bar for large screen devices and, honestly, tweaked my interest in the tablet/slate market. Now I’m an iPad guy!

The HD2 did really well on the market and I’m glad the iPhone resisted any temptation to produce a large screen phone. I know it has a better resolution, but most are unaware of this.

I gotta say, you hurt my feelings when I heard about your iPad acquisition. It’s a cool tech thingy, but you have a killer tech thingy called the Evo and a netbook! I’m prolly just jealous so don’t mind me.
