Android ROM For The HD2

In an article I read last night PocketNow.com says the group Dark Forces Team (DFT) has devised a way to flash the NAND ROM of the HTC HD2 enabling it to boot directly to a completely different operating system like Android rather than dual booting from WinMob to Android. WP7 coming to the HD2?

I have to admit my dreams were not totally smashed when Microsoft declared the HD2 un-upgradeable to WP7. Although I did take a hard swallow when I heard the news I have witnessed what the online community can do with a challenge. XDA developers have now successfully booted the HD2 with Windows Phone 7 and I am sure the near future will bring us more videos and a quick guide to "do it yourself." HD2 Lock Screen Hacks

For those of you enjoying the HD2's ridiculously large screen like I am this hack certainly saved me from the only grief I have with the lock screen. Check out this article from pocketnow.com. In it is a demonstration of how to position the slider to the middle or bottom of the screen as well as add some custom text.
