Twiscon Software, the Windows Mobile software developer who brought us SpeedGauge allowed me the opportunity to review their latest piece of software called msgCleaner and I must admit the experience was quite refreshing!
MsgCleaner rescues your Short Messaging Service folders by removing all the clutter you no longer need after you have read a message once or twice. You can exclude messages, folders, or messages by certain contacts from being deleted for safe keeping. You can also add rules to msgCleaner to clean your SMS folders at specific time intervals which archives them to a folder that can also have a rule applied to govern when messages are permanently deleted.
This application has a sharp interface and snaps from page to page without hesitation. While running in the background, it only takes 448k of memory which is hardly noticeable on my HD2 and I do not have to worry about it slowing my phone down. Honestly, my SMS folders were in need of some maintenance and when Twiscon Software offered this application to me for evaluation it was like an intervention for my message folders. Text messaging on my phone was very sluggish and this application brought the speed back to my inbox. One could call msgCleaner, clean (pun intended)! If you are looking for a solid SMS manager I would recommend msgCleaner and for only $1.99 in the Windows Market it is well worth the change.
